The Ingredients Show to Provide 2020’s Deepest Dive into New and Novel Ingredients

Product innovation will be top of the agenda when The Ingredients Show returns this March (30th-1st April, NEC Birmingham), alongside Foodex, Food & Drink Expo, National Convenience Show and Farm Shop & Deli Show. Now in its third year, visitors to the show will be treated to 2020’s most forensic look at the products making waves in the clean label, nutrition and health and wellness market.

Visitors looking for fast track insight into 2020’s most important ingredients and consumer trends, will get the chance to see and sample the latest product innovation before anyone else.

Here, we run down just some of the 2020 highlights.

With over a decade of active industry experience, Acerchem’s (Stand W269) wide range of supply chain capabilities allows the company to be increasingly innovative when it comes to product development. Providing solutions for plant-based proteins being a key area of expertise, Acerchem will be launching what it is billing as “one of the greatest kept secrets in the world of health and fitness” – Organic Pea Proteins; a versatile product that it says rivals the amino acid intake of animal products and comes in a wide variety of versatile forms, making it perfect for experimenting in the kitchen.

Leading European producer of ingredients from peas and beans, Vestkorn (Stand W258) will be launching its Textured Pea and Faba protein. These proteins are highly functional, innovative and sustainable making it easy for the consumer to be flexible,

creative and healthy. Vestkorn textured proteins aim to excel in functionality, with all varieties offered in different formats. In addition to the company’s standard range, it also offers tailor-made solutions for larger, industrial customers.

Mibelle AG Biochemistry (Stand: X249) will be launching its SaraPEPP™ Nu – a unique and natural cognition and mental performance enhancer prepared from Timut Pepper and MCT oil. During a placebo-controlled clinical trial on healthy humans, the company says its latest innovation more than proved its worth. After acute and chronic intake, significant improvements of cognitive function, attention, working memory, neural efficacy and reduced ratings of mental fatigue were reportedly seen. The product is available for soft gel applications (could be blended with omegas and other lipid-soluble nutrients like vitamin A&E) and functional beverages, RTDs (in form of emulsions) and smoothies.

Mibelle says SaraPEPP™ Nu is perfect for a range of consumers including students, working professionals and golden agers.

Passionate ingredient specialists FrieslandCampina Ingredients (Stand: X241) will be launching Nutri Whey Isolate Clear – breaking down barriers between protein and water, this product is a refreshing, full recovery clear water drink, delivering all protein, carbohydrates and electrolytes needed for optimal recovery after exercise. Available in Tropical Fruits & Acai flavour, visitors will get to try it for themselves on stand.

Beloved Dates (Stand: W261) have made it a mission to inform show visitors of the many benefits of the humble date and help incorporate it into NPD.  The company’s 100% natural, high in fibre and low GI Date Paste is, says Beloved, an ‘innovative pantry staple’ – visitors can find out more at the show.

J.O. Sims Ltd (Stand: Y261) will be unveiling its Diced Crunchy Cranberries™ developed by Ocean Spray. These on trend crunchy texture sensations have a beautiful, natural red colour and a tangy flavour.
